A Little About Us
My husband Jeff and I purchased our first Dachshund together in early 1989. She was a smooth dapple "Eva". Eva was the apple of our eyes with possibly every fault known to Dachshunds!
Eva never suspected she had any short comings at all! She was an excellent hunter quickly earning a field championship and rising to #6 field Dachshund in national rankings for 1991. She was also an avid earth dog earning her AWTA certificate of gameness and a leg towards her senior earth dog title with our daughter only 8 at the time handling.
Over and above any of her accomplishments she was our beloved companion, causing us to fall for ever head over heals in love with this spirited, loving and wonderfully versatile breed.
It didn't take us long to figure out that we wanted to be more involved and that one Dachshund was definitely not enough!
Later in 1989 we purchased our first "Show dog" under the guise of a companion to keep Eva company, and we were off. Hook line & sinker.
In the time that has passed since our beginning in the sport of pure bred dogs we have completed the championships on 16 dogs with several more well on their way to title.
Because we are a small home based operation (not a kennel) we do a very limited number of breedings. We only breed when we are hoping for our next generation of show winners. Because of this quality not quantity mentality each litter is carefully planned with health,beauty and temperament in mind. Even with the most thoughtful of breeding taking place not all of our babies will turn out to be that once in a lifetime show dog that we are hoping for.
For that reason we occasionally have wonderful puppies that are available to qualified homes. All of our companion dogs are always placed on a spay/neuter agreement. A copy of our companion contract is available for viewing in our upcoming litters link.
Our aim is high, the qualities that we are striving for are:
To breed the finest possible dogs which display the soundness, style, beauty and temperament necessary of an ambassador to the breed. With the help of our current stars we will continue to reach for our goals of producing wonderful Dachshunds which are loving and loyal companions.
